All film industries believe in sentiments and lucky charms, right from Hollywood to Bollywood to our very own Tollywood. The industry is totally worried that it is going through a bad phase.
Right from the suicide of Uday Kiran to the death of D Ramanaidu, the industry big heads are now totally convinced that the industry has been hit by evil eye.
Given this scenario, actor-turned-politician Murali Mohan’s statement that the industry must perform yagams to ward off the evil eye has acquired great significance. Apparently, many big names in the industry hold similar thoughts.
So, immediately, the said lot got into action and after having consulted some well-known astrologers and gurus from West Godavari, they have decided to conduct special ‘shanti pujas’ once February is over.
Already, pujas have been performed in Film Nagar temple. And it is not just the death of leading artistes; nearly 99 per cent of films have also flopped in recent times.
It is being believed that once shanti homam is performed, the sudden deaths of artistes would stop and that 80 per cent of films would be hits. Apparently, the astrologers and gurus also said the same.
But the industry big heads have also decided to do shanti pujas as per Christian and Muslim rituals. It remains to be seen how far this sentiment would work for the industry.
