Director Ram Gopal Varma was actually supposed to receive a notice about an FIR registered by followers of Dera Baba Ram Rahim Singh as the director made some 'funny' comments on the religious guru following the release of "MSG: Messenger Of God" film.
Actually Ludhiana police have booked a non-bailable case on Ramu under Section 66A of IT act for making hurting comments on twitter. As they are about to serve notice on Thursday, with two police personnel catching train to Mumbai from Punjab on Tuesday, Supreme Court has quashed the Section 66A. Puzzled by the happening, Police are now confused whether they should book RGV or not. For now, police will just serve notice but will take further course of action only after discussing with legal advisors.
On February 13th, Ramu tweeted, "Ram Rahim of MSG is a hybrid cross between an illusional Salman Khan,/Rajnikant and a delusional Saint/satan and a very real ass". Hurt by other series of tweets that followed, on March 1st, a follower of Ram Rahim Singh filed a case on Ramu.
