A petition has been filed in Madras High Court against Superstar Rajinikanth and 'Lingaa' Producer Rockline Venkatesh for cheating the State Government.
R Singaravadivelan of Marina Pictures, the petitioner, alleged Makers of 'Lingaa' caused a loss to the tune of Rs 21 crore to the state exchequer. He mentioned in his petition that Tamil Nadu Government offers Entertainment Tax Exemption to only films with Tamil Titles. At the same time, The Petitioner found fault with tax exemption to 'Lingaa' which is a sanskrit word.
The petition will come up for hearing on Monday. How will Rajinikanth defend Tax Exemption to 'Lingaa'?
