As much as he is popular for his award winning performances, Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan is also highly revered for his humility. Reiterating this general perception once again, Aamir showed his generous side when he publicly apologized to another legendary actor in Indian silver screen Kamal Haasan, during the ongoing FICCI meet. Aamir Khan tendered a public apology to Kamal Haasan for not standing by him during the Vishwaroopam controversy.
In 2013, Kamal Haasan's ambitious project, Vishwaroopam, was in all sorts of legal troubles. Certain religious groups attacked Kamal against the film's controversial theme and went on to demand the Tamil Nadu government to ban the film. Citing the pressure and public safety, Jayalalitha, the then CM of Tamil Nadu got the film banned, even after the CBFC cleared the film for a theatrical release.
This pushed Kamal to wage a lonely battle against the religious and political forces. At one point, the legendary actor even expressed his helplessness and angst and said that he had no option but to quit Tamil Nadu, if the film did not release.
Expressing his regret for not supporting Kamal during his troubled times, Aamir has finally said sorry to the Universal Star and even said that no film should be banned once the CBFC clears it and that it is the responsibility of the government to make sure the film releases for a public opinion.
