Released worldwide on 13th February on the eve of Valentine's Day, Universal Studios' most erotic production ever, Fifty Shades of Grey, has been setting the box office across the world on fire. Made on a meager budget of $40 millions, the film has so far collected $500 millions, making the film an all-time highest grossing blockbuster among the films released for Valentine's Day.
Directed by a female director, Sam Taylor Johnson and starring Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson, Fifty Shades of Grey is based on the book by the same name and is Universal Studios' highest grossing 'R' (Restricted) rated movie. The film had crossed $550 million by Sunday and still looks unstoppable.
Fifty Shades of Grey was banned in India after the government refused to allow its release claiming it has more porn than a story. The film was then banned in countries like China, Malaysia, UAE, Russia and Kenya etc and was released in Philippines after all the sex scenes were edited out. The Hollywood giant Universal Studios is now planning a sequel for the film titled Fifty Shades Darker.
