Bombay Velvet, the movie directed by Anurag Kashyap, is done with the censor work and the CBFC has given the movie a U/A Certificate and has cut three scenes. According to a source the movie has got U/A only after editing out a kiss scene from it. Anurag had to snip out cuss words like ‘Haramzada’ and ‘son of a bitch’ from the movie so as to get a clearance from the CBFC.
Bombay Velvet has Anushka Sharma and Ranbir Kapoor in the lead roles and for the first time director Karan Johar is making his début as an actor and that too in an antagonist role. The movie is scheduled to be released on May 15. The story of the movie is set in 80’s period of Bombay. The movie is based on writer Gyan Prakash’s book Mumbai Fables. Starting with one man’s dream, the movie took around eight years of writing and research along with much time consumed in
pre-production. Anurag Kashyap even tweeted, “How Bombay was created in Bombay Velvet.” Well, Bombay as a Dream City has always left people wondering about its magnetic charms, we expect Anurag’s Bombay Velvet gives us a satin-smooth ride.
