For the first time in his career, Balayya’s movie ‘Legend’ crossed the Rs 40 crore mark.
Taking this as a basis, the producer of Balayya’s next film ‘Lion’ has spent lavishly on the movie. New director Satyadev especially is learnt to have spent a lot on the action episodes.
With the producer quoting a high price for the movie, buyers are said to be shying away from the project. There are industry rumors that a compromise has finally been arrived at and that the price has been settled at Rs 35 crore.
This means that ‘Lion’ will have to rake in gross revenues of more than ‘Legend’ to turn out to be a profitable venture for buyers. As far as the unit is concerned, they are in a pretty optimistic mood.
