Speculations have been rife over Rajinikanth’s next flick that he would team up Shankar once again for Robo sequel and that Vikram has been approached to play Villain as Kamal declined the role. Later it was believed that he might join Raghava Lawrence for a movie having impressed with Kanchana 2. But it all has been brushed aside by latest reports that superstar has okayed a project with young director Ranjith. The news is more or less confirmed with Venkat Prabhu appreciating his Ranjith feeling proud of his disciple. Earlier Rajini has heaped praises on the 2-film-old director for his talent in directing Madras.
Rajini is said to be looking for a changeover since the failure of his previous flick Lingaa and hence zeroed in on new generation director as Ranjith. Apparently the new film will be in the lines of his yesteryear iconic movie Baasha. Rajini is expected to play a don. Moreover the role is believed to have natural shades and that too near to the star’s real age. The film will be produced by Kalaipuli S. Thanu. Official announcement on the film with cast and crew will soon be made, says sources.
