Guru Dakshina
Samantha has not just declined not just one but two of whom she has teamed up earlier for his guru. Reportedly, the South diva who is busy as hell was approached to play lead in a Kannada flick starring Kiccha Sudeep and directed by VV Vinayak. However the busy bee who is already juggling between sets of different movies has declined the offer citing date problems. Samantha has earlier teamed up with the duo separately. She worked with Sudeep in Rajamouli’s previous blockbuster Eega while she was directed by Vinayak for mass entertainer Alludu Seenu. While everyone was wondering why Samantha hasn’t obliged to their offer, industry folks have different tale to tell.
According to them, Samantha has decided not to accept the project which doesn’t offer much scope for her character. Of late, the actress has been very conscious while selecting the projects. Morever speculations are rife that she might pair Naga Chaitanya for yet another romantic entertainer to be directed by Gautam Menon. Remember that the trio had a classic hit Ye Maya Chesave to their credit. Samantha too considers Gautam Menon as her guru.
On the flipside of it, Gautam was to direct a Simbu starrer which earlier had Pallavi Subhash. But the project was put on hold due to Ajith’s Yennai Arindhal for a while. Pallavi backed out of it and got into some other film, now that the stylish director wants to restart it. Sources say, both Simbu and Gautam are keen to rope Samantha as heroine for that film as well. So Samantha has teamed up with her guru for sure but it is quite unsure whether it is for Simbu flick or Chai starrer.
