We know ‘Baahubali’ is going to set many records across the country. According to the latest update on the film’s Karnataka business, it was learnt , ‘Baahubali’ got an whooping Rs.18 crores for the distribution rights in Karnataka. This is the highest amount for a non-Kannada film in the State.
Till recently, Mahesh Babu was on the top in non-Kannada category in Karnataka with his films’ distribution rights getting sold for Rs.5 crore each. But with the advent of huge budget films like ‘Baahubali’ and ‘Puli’, the business in Kannada market is witnessing emerging new trends.
According to a report in Bangalore Mirror, Vijay’s ‘Puli’ got Rs.5.5 crore for the distribution rights in Karnataka. While Kannada superstar Sudeep in the common factor in both the magnum opuses, for Baahubali it isn’t the Sudeep factor that got the record price of Rs.18 crores. Vijay’s market got elevated from Rs.3.5 cr to Rs.5.5 cr because of Sudeep’s role as one of the important character’s in ‘Puli’.
