After impressing the audiences as a child actor in films like Ek Niranjan, Businessman and Gabbar Singh, Akash Puri, son of maverick director Puri Jagannadh, turned hero with a teenage romantic drama called Andhra Pori. The film sank without a trace, but Akash got a decent appreciation for his acting. Andhra Pori also launched the Mumbai teen girl Ulka Gupta as Akash's heroine.
During the making of the film, a deep friendship blossomed between Akash and Ulka and the young actors have kept in touch with each other since then and even Akash's mom took good care of Ulka during the shoot. But what Akash did today for his debut heroine has amused all the industry people.
Today, Ulka flew down to Hyderabad to take part in Rudhramadevi's success meet. Apparently, Akash went all the way to the airport to receive Ulka. Ulka played the young Rudhramadevi's role in Gunasekhar's epic. sources also say that both Akash and Ulka spent some jovial time chitchatting after the success meet.
