We have been witnessing many Tamil films being dubbed and released in Telugu since a long time now. But these days, this trend has gone to peaks as there are number of films irrespective of small or big heroes are being released almost every week in a year. Continuing with the trend of dubbing flicks, yet another Tamil film has been dubbed in Telugu as Dr Saleem. Starring Vijay Anthony, this thriller has hit the screens today. Let’s see how it is.
Story:-
The protagonist Saleem(Vijay Anthony) is an orphan , who studies hard to become a doctor. Being an orphan by himself, Saleem helps the poor by giving free treatment. But this attitude doesn’t go well with his boss. On the flip side Saleem falls in love with a girl named Nisha (Aksha) ans gets engaged to her.
One fine day, Saleem takes up the case of a patient named Narmada who gets gang raped. He gets involved so much in Narmada’s life that he ignores both his job and fiancée. An upset Nisha leaves him for good, and Saleem also looses his job in this process. Twist in the tale arises when he comes to know that Narmada has been kidnapped.
Considering all these dramatic circumstances What will Saleem do now ? Will he be able to get his job, fiancée and Narmada back into his life ?If you want answers for all these questions, go watch it on big screen.
Analysis:
Compared to first half, Second half of the movie is impressive. is a major asset of this film. The way director Nirmal Kumar has executed this part is quite interesting. Thrilling elements and different screenplay adds a lot of depth to the film. Some confrontational scenes in the hospital, interval bang and climax episode have been narrated quite cleverly.
The song which comes during the climax elevates the film nicely. Vijay Anthony does well and portrays different shades in his character decently. Aksha impresses in the role of an arrogant girlfriend big time. Rest of the cast have also done a decent job.
Strengths:
-Vijay Anthony’s excellent performance as a responsible doctor.
-Screenplay in the second half
-Background scores
-Cinematography is top notch
Weaknesses:
-Weak first half
-Chemistry between the lead pair is not extracted well.
-A routine story and predictable climax
-Duration of the film is a big concern too.
Technical Aspects:-
-To begin with, for any thriller kind of movies , Camera work should be fine,which Saleem has in it to good effect.
– Music by Vijay Anthony is decent as all the songs have been composed well.
-Nimal Kumar’s taking is impressive .
-Production values are top notch.
Verdict:-
Dr.Saleem is a message oriented thriller which has its moments. If you can bear the first half, second half will entertain you and makes your ticket worthy to watch . if you run out of options of watching any other films, visit Dr. Saleem.
