Sakshi Towers had a unique guest the other day. It was glamour queen Samantha.
Her bright smile sets the screen afire. But on Monday evening, her smile was meant to light up the lives of the needy, the uncared and the marginalised.
Sam participated in the 'City of Charity' organised by the Sakshi Media group. The Sakshi daily had published 17 profiles of eminent social service organisations through its weekly column 'City of Charity.' A gettogether of the representatives of the organisations was organised and Samantha was the chief guest. Sakshi group chairperson YS Bharathi was also present.
Samantha's Pratyusha Support has also been supporting Thalassemia patients through blood donations and destitute homes in a big way.
Speaking on the occasion, Samantha lauded the Sakshi initiative and said even provision of information about such organisations to the needy was a service in itself. She said when Sakshi asked her to be the brand ambassador for the column, she had readily agreed as she felt facilitation too is one way of bringing together the needy and the provider.
Gorukanti Ravinder Rao of Satya Harishancha Foundation, Dr Subrahmanyam of Sparsh, Dheemanth of Magic Bus and representatives of Krishnadevaraya Software Professionals Welfare Assocation, Make a Difference, Rakshana Welfare Association, Sambhavami, Daya Foundation, Sneha Deepam and A Wake O World also spoke.
