Nagarjuna, What About Openings?

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">

But on Box Office terms, never did he deliver strong movies with Rs. 40+ Crore films which in fact is recorded as achievement to measure the stardom and potentiality of a hero in South cinema. Such huge numbers for a film are possible only with tremendous opening collections which make Mahesh, Pawan, Prabhas, Charan, Bunny, Jr NTR and others stand in different league.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This is the time for veterans like Nagarjuna to prove that they too are nothing less than the youngsters. In same group, Balakrishna is forerunner in this achievement because his ‘Simha, Legend’ easily crossed ultimate Box Office equations piling huge numbers. So, there are no doubts on ‘Dictator’ to account high openings within first week alongside Jr. NTR’s ‘Nannaku Prematho.’</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So, the only hero in Pongal race who should worry about the high range in openings is Nagarjuna. It’s time for makers to promote ‘Soggade Chinni Nayana’ still more aggressively at least from January first week before it gets too late. Humongous opening revenues are the only way to join in Rs.40 and 50 Crore clubs. Hope, Nagarjuna is soon going to achieve this.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
"At that time he's studying BBM in USA. After completing 1 year of course, he wrote to me in a 'big letter' that he can't study further because he want to become an actor. He said 'I want to quit studies'. We said yes. Then he picked acting there, studied for a year and returned to India. Here he got trained in acting and dances. Went to Bangkok to prepare with stunts. Then the film happened", said Nagarjuna, in a special TV interview.</div>

Now every hero is getting answerable to both fans and trade people. Some distributors have made the tag #MoneyWapsi quite popular here. From Rajnikanth to Ram Charan, none are sparred. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
As his son's debut film Akhil went for a duck, thereby leaving distributors in the lurch with almost 55-60% losses inevitable, Nagarjuna is now worried what these distributors will say. Most likely some distributors might ask for a refund of their investment as they are prepared only for a 25% loss. Reports are arriving that Nagarjuna has taken the mantle of pampering those irked distributors who lost big chunks with his younger son's movie. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Already a secret meeting is said to have held between Nagarjuna and the mediators who are cooling down distributors. Couple of other Akkineni films theatrical rights are said to be promised for them at reasonable prices.</div>

Big Producers Focusing On Story Banks

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">

On Friday, they might be watching Telugu movies and writing reviews but in the other days, their schedule is busy watching international cinema. And that's why these people are being called by big producers now. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
In Tollywood, there is a serious death of good stories maybe due to scarcity of talented writers. Flops like Bruce Lee and Akhil proved that even big directors are not able to come up with these interesting stories. At this moment, our big producers are inviting these 'Story Banks' who are busy watching Korean, French and also German horror flicks these days. They are asking them to bounce the story lines of best films they watched or the ones that excited them most. If any film sounds potential then these big producers are giving the DVDs of those films to young writers and asking them to come up with stories. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This is not a new thing but directors used to watch foreign DVDs and make films here. Many of the recent big hits in Telugu are directly lifted from Korean and European films. Anyway, if big producers are focusing on stories through these critics, expect some good stories at least in the coming days.</div>

Making Sankranthi season more interesting, actor Nagarjuna Akkineni has joined the race. If latest buzz is anything to go by, Nag's Soggade Chinninayana is likely to be released on January 15. Buzz is that the date has been fixed so far. Though originally makers want to release it in December, due to few reasons, the film is now going to release for Sankranthi slugging it out with Nandamuri Balakrishna and Jr NTR's movies.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Billed to be a family entertainer featuring Nagaruna in two dual role, anchor-turned-actress Anasuya will be seen as Nag's Maradalu (cousin) in the film. Newcomer Kalyan Krishna is testing his luck as director for the film which has story, screenplay by Radha Mohan who produced Ashta Chemma, Uyyala Jampala.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Meanwhile, Jr NTR's Nannaku Prematho is slated for Jan 8 releas whereas Nandamuri Balakrishna's Dictator will be hitting the screens on Jan 14. So, trade analysts are expecting a Box Office clash between Nagarjuna, Balakrishna and Jr NTR.</div>

Family Wars Inevitable In Tollywood!

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<a href="http://timesofap.com//newsimage1/cinema/2015/11/13/Tollywood-heros.jpg?i=28254" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="img" border="0" height="213" src="http://timesofap.com//newsimage1/cinema/2015/11/13/Tollywood-heros.jpg?i=28254" width="320" /></a>Going by the current trends happening in Telugu Film Industry, it seems like internal family wars are going to be unstoppable here. Especially when there is an argument that outsiders are not finding enough theatres and chances to make it big in the industry, analysts feel that even the family-backed heroes might slip into trouble soon.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
As we confirmed already, NTR's Nannaku Prematho and Balayya's Dictator are arriving on January 8th and 14th respectively. Two biggies from the same Nandamuri family are arriving in just a week gap, and 30% of fans are unlikely to pick both. Because it's the question of money for many middle-class people and C-centre folks. They will be picking only those films that give them maximum satisfaction for ticket money. Even family audiences will also think in similar way. After Balayya recedes from acting career, then Mokshagna is likely to enter the scene. Then we will have Jr NTR, Mokshagna, Kalyan Ram fighting from Nandamuri family for placements. So, the one who delivers better content will have more chances of succeeding than everyone.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Coming to Mega family, this set of heroes enjoy the biggest threat from each other. Barring Pawan Kalyan, we have Charan, Bunny, Saidharam, Varun Tej and Sirish in the game. As these heroes are continuously making films, at one point films of their cousins are likely to clash with them. If arrangements are made for two weeks gap, no doubt the same middle class money troubles will play the bigger role and fans are likely to wait and watch the best film among the two. Same is the case with Akkineni family who has Nagarjuna, Chaitu, Akhil and sometimes Sushanth in the race. With this family inclined towards romantic films most of time, their producers might eye similar seasons, making the Brand Akkineni lock horns with each other.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Another scenario is that, if not family wars, wars with friends are also inevitable. Charan is likely to face Akhil and Rana one day; Bunny might get Prabhas in his way; and so on. With two many heroes running for the show, these wars can't be avoided. Even if they plan very cautiously, our ways of missing release dates, delaying production and unnecessary postponements will lead only to a fight at box office.</div>

Nagarjuna: No silly stupids in my family

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">

<a href="http://timesofap.com//newsimage1/cinema/2015/11/12/Nagarjuna.jpg?i=92478" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="img" border="0" height="213" src="http://timesofap.com//newsimage1/cinema/2015/11/12/Nagarjuna.jpg?i=92478" width="320" /></a>Responding to the rumors about the rivalry between Nagarjuna and Akhil, Nag said that there is no possibility of rivalries in Akkineni family.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
In the past, when Akhil movie was scheduled to release on Dussehra festival, it was rumored that Nag was behind the delay, and that made Akhil to fight with Nag.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
In the past, Nagarjuna said that, due to a few of the mistakes in graphic content, the movie was delayed. It was after that, several stories are heard in the media, alleging the internal rivalry between Nagarjuna and Akhil. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Now in the recent press meet, Nag said, “Akkineni family is completely against rivalries. Whatever be the situation, the family will always be one. Developing rivalries within the family, will happen in silly and stupid families, but never in Akkineni family.”</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
“In that sense, even if I am aggressive sometimes, Akhil and Naga Chaitanya do not even get any angry. I in turn ask them that, how they could maintain such a cool attitude,” Nag said. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Generally, when the celebrities face the controversial questions like these, they try to avoid answering those. But Nag answered to all of such questions with great patience.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Not only this, even in the past, Akkineni family is known for its super cool attitude. They not only backed their own family, but also supported other heroes and the whole film industry too. In fact, recently, Akhil said that he is the fan of Chiranjeevi dance, surprising all the mega fans. That itself says that, rivalry is the biggest rivalry of Akkineni family.</div>

Aggressive Akkineni Fans were although dissatisfied with the decision but they were very much on the side of Nagarjuna because Akhil debut film happens to be the biggest event for this Akkineni generation. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
In sync, the post production team has tightened the loose ends in climax VFX and ‘Akhil’ release date is declared as November 11. However, Nagarjuna never arrived before media later on either to reveal the release date or speak positive about the overall output. This is one of the biggest promotional lapses that can never be fulfilled. Why is it Nagarjuna stood away from media at the penultimate hour? Does his silence really have any hidden interpretation?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Some say, Nagarjuna was totally upset watching final ‘Akhil’ copy and he knew that the launch was improper. Unable to criticize neither director VV Vinayak nor the producers Nithin, Sudhakar Reddy, he simply walked away blaming himself for the catastrophe. Either ways, there is nothing Nagarjuna and Akhil can do at this late hour because the dangerous first day talk is very much out.</div>

Nagarjuna fire on Vinayak

But as per inside talk, it was totally different and many say that Nagarjuna fired at Vinayak for this film. It was heard that Nagarjuna is unhappy with many scenes in this film and he was totally disappointed in Vinayak for being so irresponsible in taking this film.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Nagarjuna has ordered for remake of all those scenes that he is unsatisfied of and simple they covered it that graphic works are pending. Now this film is scheduled for a major retake of most of this film and many say that its going to take lot of time for all of those re-shoot to be completed. Looks like this film might not make it this year after all and might be possible for it to end up in Sankranthi race. Need to see if Vinayak will be successful at-least second time in satisfying Nagarjuna with this film.</div>

Buzz: Nagarjuna Not Happy With Akhil?

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">

<a href="http://timesofap.com//newsimage1/cinema/2015/10/15/Akhil%2C.jpg?i=9199" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="img" border="0" height="203" src="http://timesofap.com//newsimage1/cinema/2015/10/15/Akhil%2C.jpg?i=9199" width="320" /></a>If the buzz from the film circles is to be believed Akkineni Nagarjuna is not entirely satisfied with how his son’s debut film has shaped up.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Akkineni Akhil’s socio fantasy entertainer ‘Akhil’ is believed to have so much graphics work. Although the film’s shoot has completed on time, the VFX work hasn’t come out as desired.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Nagarjuna and director Vinayak who have seen the final cut aren’t pleased with the VFX part it seems. However debutante Akhil and the producer Nithin are okay with the ‘so-so’ visual effects as they want this movie to release for Dasara without fail.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Reworking on graphics will take so much time and Akhil will be missing out on Dasara festival.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Also there is pressure from distributors to release the movie for Dasara. If the movie fails to come out for Dasara all the distributors would pay only seventy percent of the amount they have agreed upon.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Being the producer Nithin might be worried about the thirty percent deduction but it is surprising to see Akhil compromising on the quality.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Nagarjuna is not pleased with his son’s decision but he is not denying it either.</div>
