The story revolves around Aditya Singh (Sharman Joshi) and his wife, Siya Singh (Zareen Khan) who takes care of the family business after the demise of Aditya's elder brother Vikram. But all of a sudden, things start taking a wrong turn, when an unknown businessman Saurav Singhania (Karan Singh Grover) enters their life.</div>

In an attempt to merge his company with Aditya's, Saurav makes an absurd offer, that he wants to spend one night with Siya(Aditya's wife), and Aditya gets to know his real face. Vijay Singh(Salman Khan) is the royal prince of Pritampur. He has two step sisters and one brother who hate him big time. A disappointed Vijay always tries to make peace with his family but ends up failing each time. As time passes by, he gets engaged to a princess called Maithili(Sonam Kapoor) and plans for a big family reunion during his wedding.</div>

During the same time, Vijay Singh gets attacked by his own brother’s henchmen. His loyal guard Dewan(Anupam Kher) save his life and keeps him in a secret place away from his family. Salman Khan is undoubtedly one of the biggest assets and excels in both his double roles of Prem and Vijay Singh. He looks regal as the prince and plays the mature character well. On the other hand, Salman brings back all the sweet memories of Prem from his Maine Pyar Kiya and Hum Apke Hain Kaun days and carries the entire film on his shoulders.</div>

Sonm Kapoor is perfect as the princess and looks gorgeous on screen. Right from the costumes to her chemistry with Salman Khan, everything looks top class. The colourful visuals, rich production values and all the family traditions which are associated with Sooraj Barjatiya films have been showcased wonderfully.</div>

Anupam Kher and Armaan Kohli are impressive in their respective roles. Talented actress, Swara Bhaskar gets a meaty role and performs with a lot of ease. All her scenes with Salman have come out well and become the main stay of the film. Songs are yet another major highlight of the film and have been shot lavishly.</div>

Even though the film does not have many boring moments, pace of the film is a bit slow. Proceedings in the second half move at their own speed and the climax is also a bit stretched. Story is age old and has nothing much exciting going its way.</div>

The scenes during the pre-climax are a bit confusing and have been rushed towards the climax. The negative characters featuring Neil Nitin Mukesh and Armaan Kohli have not been elevated much. Some more scenes should have been added to showcase the hatred between Salman and his family.</div>

Music by Himesh Reshamiya is quite good and so are the lyrics. They go with the flow and enhance the beauty of the film. Camera work is top notch and showcases the entire film in a superb light. Special mention should go to the art department for their splendid work. The royal sets which have been created look top class and give the film a grand look. Editing was decent but the flashback episode featuring Slman’s father could have been edited out.</div>

Coming to the director Sooraj Barjatiya, he has done a wonderful job with the film. Even though he chose a routine story, the way he has set it in a royal but contemporary era is wonderful. Once again, he showcases family emotions quite beautifully and does not go overboard. The only place where he falters is the way he take his own time in wrapping up things which becomes quite tedious at times.</div>

One the whole, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo is a clean family entertainer which has everything which you look forward in a Sooraj Barjatiya and Salman Khan combination. Rich family emotions, superb songs and Salman’s adorable performance are huge assets. If you end up bearing the predictable story line and slow pace, you can happily watch this film with your entire family and have a blast this Diwali weekend.</div>

Her daughter, Sanaaya gets kidnapped and as ransom the criminals ask Anuradha to get rapist and murderer, Miyaaz Shaikh (Chandan Roy Sanyal) out of jail in four days. Yohan, a tainted cop played by Irrfan Khan is Anuradha's best friend and also the guy who helps her get the daughter back.</div>

Shabana Azmi is seen essaying the role of the victim's daughter, against whom Anuradha is fighting the case against. While the plot of the movie is very unique and gripping, we can't really give it much credit for director Sanjay Gupta has just remade Korean movie Seven Days. </div>

While he has kept the essence of the story the same, making Jazbaa an edge of the seat thriller, he has taken the emotions a little overboard. Scenes where we see Aishwarya cry for her daughter just don't seem to end, making the melodrama a little too much to handle. </div>

While at one point we do enjoy Irrfan Khan's dialogues, there are scenes where his dialogues would want to make you facepalm yourself. But all these flaws get easily overlapped by this edge of the seat thriller which doesn't let go of your attention and interest even for seconds. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is made to seem like the star of the movie, while she has given her best and performed really well, barring some overacting scenes, she gets overtaken by others. </div>

Irrfan Khan stands out as the uber cool cop and his camaraderie with hyper active Aish is quite commendable. Shabana Azmi too plays her role quite effortlessly while Chandhan could have done a better job. None the less, Irrfan and Shabana over take Aishwarya when it comes to performance in the movie. </div>

Sanjay has managed to give an entertaining, gripping thriller to watch this weekend, with the stunning world beauty leading the story. Songs too are great and in sync with the theme. Hats off to Robin Bhatt and Kamlesh Pandey for their paisa vasool type dialogues.  </div>

Jackie as the father has done a rather impressive job, the first half of the movie, Jackie's expressions will not let your eyes wander off the screen. Akshay as expected was at his best in the movie. The emotions and bond he shares with his on-screen family will make you cry. Sidharth Malhotra doesn't have as much screen space as Akshay, neither does he have much dialogues but his brooding angry young man look steals the show. Jacqueline Fernandez has a very small role in comparison to others and she does a rather decent job with her screen time.</div>

This is where he meets Rasika (Kareena Kapoor Khan), who falls in love with him.The story takes a turn when the very helpful Bajrangi decides to help Munni (Harshaali Malhotra), a little Pakistani girl and reunites her with her parents across the border.</div>

Salman plays his character with sheer honesty and he makes you fall in love with him all over again with this one too. The movie deals with the issue of cross border tension and message of humanity and loving each other with excellence.</div>

Kareena Kapoor Khan is beautiful. Her beauty adds to every scene that she is in. Talking about Nawazuddin. Well, the man is a true artist. He manages to overshadow Salman in every sequence he is in. However, it is Harshaali Malhotra who steals the show. Playing a mute girl, the little wonder speaks through her eyes and her innocence is heart-warming. And to everyone’s surprise, even though this is a Bhai movie, it has only has a few action sequences, which are not at all over-the-top. This is a welcoming change.</div>

Kareena does not have much screen space and is only there to add the desired glam quotient.</div>

Nawazuddin Siddiqui as usual ends up doing a fab job but the true star performer of this movie is Harshaali who makes you laugh, cry and go through a range of emotions without a single dialogue and only expressions. The chemistry Harshaali and Salman share is truly heart touching and something that can tear you up as well. But the humorous and enjoyable scenes between Nawaz and Salman are not to be missed as well.</div>

The cinematography is amazing and so is the editing of the film.</div>

There are certain scenes which the director might have used to interpret an inner meaning but appeared too unreal, for example, one scene shows Vidya Balan walking down a deserted road with a luggage but the road by no chance will lead to any airport or station. </div>

The sequel commences where its prequel ended. Tanu (Kangana Ranaut) and Manu Sharma (R Madhavan) are married but aren't happy in their paradise in London. While Tanu keeps on complaining and taunting her husband, Manu couldn't get an idea where the problem lies. This increasing chaos lead to their separation and Tanu flies back to Delhi from London. Yet, to save their relationship, Manu sends a letter demanding an apology from his wayward wife Tanu. This only alienates the independent and strong-willed Tanu.</div>

‘Piku’ is like the hot chicken broth for the senses, the kind of food you know will soothe you, warm you up inside and more importantly, won’t mess with your digestive system. Perhaps the kind of dish that would be just ideal for one of the lead protagonists of the film, 70 year old Bhashkor Bannerjee (Amitabh Bachchan), who perpetually suffers from constipation issues.</div>

Similar feelings envelope you when you watch director Shoojit Sircar’s Piku, a tale that chronicles the dependant relationship between a demanding 70-year-old father Bhashkor Banerjee (Amitabh Bachchan) and his accommodating daughter, Piku (Padukone). The majority of their banter and interaction revolve around Bhashkor’s bowel movement, or the lack of it. But Sircar and the actors should take a bow for not reducing all that potty talk into something foul. It’s endearing, at first. But let’s face it. There are more riveting topics to discuss in this world. So I found myself agreeing vociferously with cab owner Rana Chaudhry (Irrfan Khan) who points out that the old man should take a break from tying emotions raging through his body to his bowel motions. It’s a valid point, especially since there was so much meat to be culled out from the budding friendship between Rana and Piku.</div>

Both Khan and Padukone have done a tremendous job of making their characters lovable and real. They are quirky, but they don’t let those eccentricities overwhelm them. However, the film does appear constipated at some points. For instance the family road trip undertaken by Piku, her dad, the house help and a reluctant driver (Khan) from Delhi to Kolkota is ripe with opportunities, but the movie never explores that Piku-Rana tangent. That’s a shame because that would have elevated Piku to a superbly satisfying film.</div>

Bachchan goes through the motions of playing Bhashkor with his usual alacrity. Barring his ill-fitting wig, the scene in which he introduces his daughter as an emotionally and sexually independent woman is hilarious. It’s his crafty bid to shoo away a potential suitor and it just makes you smile. He’s unapologetically selfish — a far cry from those sacrificing, indulgent dads that we have been accustomed to in some Bollywood romances.</div>

Finally, there’s a Bollywood movie that doesn’t present an hyperbolic pitch-perfect image of a father and his daughter. Just like any regular — dysfunctional to an outsider — family, they fight, make-up and move on in life. Padukone and Bachchan are naturals as they display an over-familiarity that only family members who live together can display.</div>

But that’s not to say that Piku is flawless. It’s no cliffhanger — the film puts a smile on your face primarily because of the collective prowess of its principal cast. In the second half, Piku almost becomes an ode to Kolkota and its old-world charm. It’s brightest moments, however, are the scenes featuring Khan and Padukone.</div>

The story of Detective Byomkesh Bakshy revolves around a murder mystery, which is being solved by a young Bengali private detective named Byomkesh Bakshy (Sushant Singh Rajput). Ajit Bandyopadhyay (Anand Tiwari) hands over a case of his lost father named Bhuvan to Byomkesh. During the case, Byomkesh finds out that Bhuvan is actually dead. He meets Dr Anukul Guha as one of the suspects, and goes ahead to stay in his lodge, where Bhuvan had also stayed, however, he too is murdered. One death leads to another and Byomkesh gets trapped in solving the case which leads to other dissolved mysteries revolving Chinese mafia and freedom fighters.</div>

Direction and script are actually the king of the film. Dibakar Banerjee’s style of filmmaking is sure unique, and he vividly knows how to keep his audiences engaged and not get bored throughout the cinematic experience. Speaking of performances, Sushant Singh Rajput, who has earlier proved his worth in his debut film, shines bright as a detective. The actor keeps getting better with every film and his confidence and body language takes the role to a new high. Anand Tiwari and Swastika Mukherjee are brilliant. And a special mention goes to Neeraj, who easily walks away with all accolades in climax.</div>

Also the involvement of a lot of blood and gore along the course can repel a few viewers.</div>

The movie is visually engaging and filled with cinematic flair. Technically, the movie is sound. The excellent camerawork and locations, to the crisp editing and taut scripting, everything about the movie is perfect. The background score is brilliant and keeps the suspense right on track. With no songs in the movie, it becomes even easier for the viewers to concentrate. Also a mention goes to the art department, which plays a huge role in making the movie more authentic. Editing is top notch and dialogues are in sync with the era that the movie is set in. While the first half is nail-biting and extremely a mind twister, the second half of the movie is comparatively slow paced.</div>
