Few cinema critics actually eat, drink and sleep only cinemas everyday. On Friday, they might be watching Telugu movies and writing reviews but in the other days, their schedule is busy watching international cinema. And that's why these people are being called by big producers now.
In Tollywood, there is a serious death of good stories maybe due to scarcity of talented writers. Flops like Bruce Lee and Akhil proved that even big directors are not able to come up with these interesting stories. At this moment, our big producers are inviting these 'Story Banks' who are busy watching Korean, French and also German horror flicks these days. They are asking them to bounce the story lines of best films they watched or the ones that excited them most. If any film sounds potential then these big producers are giving the DVDs of those films to young writers and asking them to come up with stories.
This is not a new thing but directors used to watch foreign DVDs and make films here. Many of the recent big hits in Telugu are directly lifted from Korean and European films. Anyway, if big producers are focusing on stories through these critics, expect some good stories at least in the coming days.
