Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan recently flew down south to shoot for a brand endorsement with some of South Indian cinema’s biggest names. Big B who recently worked with Dhanush and Akshara for ‘Shamitabh’, spent the day with Prabhu, Vikram, Shiva, Nagarjuna and Manju Warrior shooting for a commercial.
The actor who shot his first film in the South, took to his blog to share a little about his time on set with the South Film Industry's greats.
He said, “There is a certain respect and cultural heritage in them all. The Industry itself has been one that has functioned with utmost professionalism and discipline. Their modes of management and the contents of their creativity have always been ahead of the Industry in Mumbai. Though now the gap is slowly getting closed and the content and ethics of the two Industries has been on par almost.”
Amitabh had only kinds words to share about the stars he worked with. About Nagarjun, he said, 'the son of the great Telugu thespian the iconic Akkineni .. Nag worked with me in ‘Khuda Gawah’ and there has been a long association with him and his family. His great Father, who passed away recently, was a great admirer of mine and always told Nag about it.'
Bachchan, who is a legend in the Bollywood industry was all praise for Shiva, the son of Rajkumar, the idol of millions in Karnataka and a most humble and endearing human, who treated him like his family. And then the lovely Manju Warrior from the Malayalam cinema, a darling of the Industry and a most talented artist.
He ended his note with a touching message that read, "I am blessed to be living in the memory of these giants … and blessed to be a small part of this most dynamic Industry .."
