Renowned film producer, entrepreneur and financier Prasad V Potluri has lodged case against actress-singer Shruti Haasan. Picture House Media Ltd, owned by PVP, filed Civil and Criminal Proceedings against Shruti in a Chennai court. According to the production house, Shruti entered into an agreement with the company to act in their upcoming film directed by Vamsi Paidipally which has Nagarjuna, Karthi and Taapsee in the lead roles. However, Picture House Media alleges that Shruti breached their agreement and reportedly violated obligations in the contract.
In a statement released by Picture House, "The dates of Shruti Haasan are mutually discussed with her and schedules are planned based on her convenience. But in the last minute, she arbitrarily tries to opt out of the project citing dates issues. She has written an Email that she wanted to walk out of the project which is unethical, unprofessional."
"This resulted Picture House Media Ltd loss of money, reputation. The shooting of the film had commenced and we even wrapped up our first schedule. With this, the financial loss is in tunes of Crores. More than money, it's the loss of time and reputation that hurt us more. In order to ensure that such unprofessional acts are not repeated in future, we initiated Civil and Criminal proceedings against Shruti Haasan," added the statement.
Responding to the case filed by Picture House Media Ltd, honourable Judge taken cognizance of the issue and passed injunction orders against the actress not to sign any other film until further orders. The court directed police to investigate into the matter further. Picture House Media Ltd corroborated the orders of Chennai court. Shruti Haasan is yet to respond to the issue publicly.
