Crispy length and plain-jane narration. These are the two things movie buffs are liking a lot when it comes to Telugu movies these days. A movie's running length including starting titles and end credits is not expected to be more than 2 hours, and for stars' films they are easing the rules just a little. Let's look at the curious case of 'S/o Satyamurthy' now.
When films with 2 hours 20 minutes are considering boring these days, writer-director Trivikram has come up with 2 hours 42 minutes lengthy movie. Allu Arjun starrer S/o Satyamurthy is literally 162 minutes long, on par with the director's past flick Attarintiki Daredi that lasted for 169 minutes. Such a huge runtime is okay for demigods like Pawan Kalyan, but we wonder if Bunny could carry off such heavy time with panache.
Considering the ensemble star-cast of the flick including versatile Prakash Raj, Rajendra Prasad and Upendra in key roles alongside Allu Arjun, Samantha, Nitya, Adaah, Sneha and other crucial actors, this runtime is needed probably to give space for each character perfectly. To avoid clustering and jiffy narration, Trivikram might have taken that liberty.
Unless the movie is watched, it will not be known if this runtime is boon or bane. April 9th, come fast!!
