Looks like celebrities and controversies are inseparable. Of late, numerous actors and celebs from all walks of life have been stating several controversial comments which are immediately drawing severe national outrage. The recent actress in the fray is Nandita Das, the dusky beauty who is popular for her award winning performances in several arthouse and even commercial films like 1947 Earth, Mani Ratnam's Amrutha and her straight Telugu film, Kamli.
Apparently, Nandita Das said in an interview that 'All men are rapists'. Soon after the interview was published online, furious mob took to social media and started trending #NanditaDasQuotes and ridiculed her shallow and generic comments. While hardcore fans of Nandita were left in undeniable shock, social media was taken by storm and several memes and heated comments was tagged to Nandita Das.
However, quickly reacting to the growing steam, Nandita clarified on her Twitter saying, 'I'm being falsely quoted Never said all men are rapists. What kind of a stupid generalisation is that? sad that 1 have to even explain this.' But unfortunately, the damage was already done and people seemed to be in no mood to pay heed to her clarification. Hope better sense prevails and that the nation will soon be at peace without any further controversies.
