AIADMK’s supremo Jayalalitha who took charge as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister after being acquitted on May 11 by the Karnataka High court in 19-year old disproportionate assets case will be troubled by the DMK party again. DMK’s president Karunanidhi said that he will file an appeal in the disproportionate assets case against Jayalalithaa in the Supreme Court, as the SC has said twice that DMK has the right to participate in this case.
Karunanidhi said that the Special Public Prosecutor in the case, B V Acharya, and Karnataka Advocate General Ravi Varma Kumar had recommended the Karnataka Government to file an appeal against Jayalalithaa’s acquittal. He also said that BJP leader Subramanian Swamy has also decided to go to the apex court against Jayalalitha’s acquittal.
