Collections Report
After much dilly dallying Uttama Villain finally made it to the screens. It had a good start but would have got a better opening if released on time. Since the movie has been stamped as multiplex film with classy touch by the critics it is going well with section of audience. The movie has balance of emotions with parallel stories running throughout. While the Manoranjan the character of Kamal as a superstar in the movie keeps up with the drama and has impressed the balcony rows, but the embedded folk tale story i.e. of the Uttaman character played by Manoranjan is supposed to entertain front rows with comedy, unfortunately it hasn’t. This makes the film dwindle at ticket window. Uttama Villain has bagged 1.5 crores approximately so far having released on May Day. Here’s the region wise details of the collections.
On the flipside, Ganga has managed to pull out the crowd from those front rows and reaping rich. It is declared box-office bonanza with makers happily laughing. Meantime, Allu Arjun starrer S/o Satyamurthy remained favorite with family audience this summer season. Coming from ace director Trivikram Srinivas and Bunny who is riding high on success of his previous, Race Gurram, S/o Satyamurthy has raked in record openings in its first week. Later on it went slow though with the mixed talk. However being only direct Telugu film with ensemble star cast in recent releases it has kept its track and moved gradually. At one point there was confusion in its collections at the box-office. It was alleged that makers have blown up the figures.
