Mohammed Hanif Wasim, a Hyderabadi student who went to London for higher studies has reportedly been killed in Syria. He had joined the dreaded terrorist outfit IS this February, and was killed two weeks ago. A letter from Syria, written in Arabic reached the family recently and they approached the police.
He had got engaged to a Hyderabad girl who is doing Bachelor of Dental Surgery only last September.
Before leaving to Syria from Dubai, Hanif is believed to have called his father Mohammed Aleem and told him that he was not interested in marriage as he was going to Syria to join the IS. He is said to have called up his fiancé too. Apparently he apologized to her and asked her not to wait for him. However, both the families refrained from sharing the news with anyone, fearing social stigma.
Sources say even in the on going police investigation both the families are tight lipped. Reports say Mohammed Hanif Wasim is the first Hyderabdi to die for IS.
