This is not the first time that the Kuwait government banned an Indian film. Earlier, Kuwait also banned films like Vishwaroopam fearing religious controversies, Lawrence's latest horror comedy blockbuster, Ganga and yet another horror film Demonte Colony which released last Friday.
Most Tamil films earn huge collections in Kuwait and other Middle Eastern countries thanks to a large number of Tamil migrants who work in various gulf countries. With this ban, Masss is bound to lose a large chunk of collections and this also raises the concern of creative freedom of expression of filmmakers.
