Noted Bollywood actor Mahesh Manjrekar is returning to Tollywood with upcoming Telugu film Guntur Talkies. Mahesh, who in the past worked in Telugu films like 'Adhurs', 'Homam' and 'Okkadunnadu', will work under the direction of Praveen Sattaru. Unlike Praveen's previous film, Guntur Talkies is going to be complete entertainer.
Starring Madhu Shalini and Sidhu in the lead roles, the film is set against the backdrop of Guntur slums. And there's no social message in the film and it's pakka paisa-vasool film. Actress Sraddha Das is being roped for a guest role whereas senior actor Vijaya Naresh essays significant role.
Praveen Sattaru won the National Award for his last directorial 'Chandamama Kathalu', which failed to set cash registers ringing. Billed to be a Telugu anthology film, it has eight sub-stories revolving around love. The lives of the central characters in the sub-plots get intertwined with each other. Lakshmi Manchu, Aamani, Naresh, Krishnudu, Chaitanya Krishna, Abhijeet, Naga Shourya, Vennela Kishore, Amitha Rao and Richa Panai played the stellar roles.
