Even before it hit the screens this Friday, Kangana Ranaut and Madhavan starrer Tanu Weds Manu Returns is creating all the right noises through the special premieres. Those who have seen the film are especially raving about Kangana's amazingly natural performance that stole everyone's heart. Last year, Kangana amazed the critics and the audiences alike with her endearing performance in Queen.

Queen was a commercial success and the actress even got the prestigious National Award for Best Actress category. Her close competition, Priyanka Chopra was no less as she stunned film lovers with her ferocious act in Mary Kom. Early this year, even Anushka Sharma joined the league of extraordinary women with her intense performance in NH10. The film too was a commercial and critical success.

This has brought the topic of women-centric films ruling the roost in Bollywood. Meanwhile in Tollywood, films hardly feature heroines in the lead roles and even in top stars' films, they are limited to songs and dances and few romantic scenes. Will our Tollywood heroines take inspiration from their Bollywood counterparts and give their consent to female-centric films?

All the top heroines like Samantha, Kajal, Tamannah and Shrti Haasan etc have been in the business for the last 5, 6 years. Barring Anushka, who succeeded in winning the hearts of film lovers with Arundathi, no actress managed to even feature herself in a lady oriented film. If only these actresses gave their consent, writers will surely come up with meaty roles and women-oriented films for them.
