Artistes know no boundaries and they are loved by millions of their fans across the borders. While many stars from Bollywood, Tamil and Malayalam and other film industries have solid fan base even in Telugu states, a handful of Telugu stars too enjoy the immense love and admiration from fans from other states. One such actor is the yesteryear's King of Romance, Sobhan Babu.
Following the protests by a Tamil extremist political organization Tamizhar Munnetra Padai (TMP) which threatened to demolish Sobhan Babu's statue in Chennai, the Chennai Police have beefed up security surrounding the Sobhan Babu's statue. Already, several protesting leaders of the party have been taken into custody.
After the Tamil Nadu government denied permission to install the statue of stained LTTE leader, Velupillai Prabhakaran, the TMP vowed to demolish the statue questioning that how can the government refuse the statue of the Tamil war hero but let statues of stars from other regions enjoy the city space. Meanwhile, several Telugu organizations in the city lamented at the happenings and requested the protestors not to categorize the artistes based on regions and languages.
