The dozen-odd benefit shows organised by individuals and organisations across the two States with a social responsibility factor in mind, did serve their purpose, because tickets were sold out.
At different times – since 1 a.m., 3 a.m., and 6.30 a.m. on Friday, benefit shows were on in the twin cities, in Bhimavaram, Tirupati, Warangal and a few other places.
Without going into other aspects as to how much people liked the blockbuster, it suffices to say that it was the mother of all visual treats.
The pre-release hype seemed to be on as much, even after the film hit the screens, and the crowds outside theatres were no less than they were on Thursday.
At the busy RTC crossroads, a well-known hub for theatres, police stationed tow-away vehicles to remove people parking in a haphazard manner, but still, throughout the morning and noon, traffic snarls were seen. Groups of fans, primarily of actor Prabhas, were seen celebrating, expressing their happiness that a film for which they had waited almost two-and-a-half years, had at last hit the screens.
Adilabad Special
Correspondent adds:
It was a musical fanfare at all the 15 cinema exhibition halls in Adilabad district on Friday where the mega budget movie ‘Bahubali’ opened.
Fans of actor Prabhas celebrated the opening of the film at all theatres by singing and dancing and performed ‘palabhishekam’ of a flexi-poster of the actor at Maheshwari theatre.
There was a heavy rush at the ticket counters and fans had to wait for another show to get a ticket to watch the movie. While the film ran for five shows at Maheshwari theatre starting 8.30 a.m., the other two in town ran four shows.
Meanwhile, a group of Prabhas fans came to Adilabad from Nanded in Maharashtra to watch the film at Ganesh theatre.
They too had arrived with a music band.
