Mahesh Babu is an Indian film actor, who is best known for his acting in Tollywood film industry. He has received various awards which includes, The Actor Of The Year 2011 by CNN-IBN, Nandi Awards, CineMAA Awards are some of them to name. In addition to acting, Mahesh also endorsed several brands in Andhra Pradesh, South India. He owns a film production company in the name of his father "Krishna Productions Private Ltd" in Hyderabad. In January 2014, he was ranked 30th on Celebrity 100 list by Forbes India. Mahesh is one of the best actors to take highest remuneration.

Biography

Mahesh Babu was born on 9 August 1975 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. He has completed his schooling at St. Bede's school and obtained an Honours Degree in Commerce from Loyola College, Chennai. Tamil film actor Karthi is his schoolmate. As a child actor, he has acted in seven of his father Super Star Krishna's films. After graduating, he met director L. Satyanand in Vishakhapatnam and took training in acting for three to four months. Apart from acting and modeling, Mahesh also lent his voice for movies like "Jalsa" and "Baadshah". Mahesh Babu, along with his siblings, used to play cricket regularly at the VGP Golden beach in Chennai.

Srimanthudu is a 2015 action romantic film, which is being directed by Koratala Siva on Mythri Movies banner. Actor Mahesh Babu is also one of the producers of the film and played as Harsha. For the first time, he shared screen space with Shruti Haasan, who is seen as Charuseela. Harsha likes social service and falls in love with Rural Development student Charuseela. On the whole, Srimanthudu is a stunning emotional family drama which surely hits the audience. The movie has collected Rs. 30 crore on its first day.

Brahmotsavam is a 2016 upcoming bilingual film both in Telugu and Tamil. It is written and directed by Srikanth Addala. It is produced by Prasad V Potluri under the banner PVP Cinema. This is second movie for actors Mahesh Babu and Kajal Aggarwal to share the screen space. The movie also features Pranitha Subhash andSamantha in important roles. Music will be composed by Mickey J Meyer. The film is scheduled for a worldwide release in January 2016 during the Sankranthi festival.

Career

Mahesh Babu is considered as one of the most popular actors in Telugu cinema. He has started his acting career at a tender age of 4 years with the film "Needa". He used to spend much time on sets with his father, which attracted him towards films. In the film 'Sankharavam' he faced the cameras under his father's directon for the first time. In 1999, Mahesh was re-introduced as a full-fledged hero with the movie "Raja Kumarudu". He was seen in film 'Vamsi' opposite Namrata Shirodkar. For his 2001 film Murari he has bagged a Nandi Special Jury Award for his performance. Currently he is working on two films titled Srimanthudu and Brahmotsavam.

His step-mother is Vijaya Nirmala, who is a yesteryears actress. He has four siblings one elder brother Ramesh Babu, an actor and a producer in Telugu films. Mahesh has two elder sisters one is Priyadarshini and the other Manjula Swaroop known as Manjula, a film producer and actress in Telugu cinema.

Padmavathi is his younger sister. He is half-brother of tollywood actor Naresh. Tollywood actor Sudheer Babu is the brother-in-law of Mahesh, who is married to Priyadarsini. Mahesh is married to actress Namrata Shirodkar.

Mahesh Babu is married to a beautiful Bollywood actress Namrata Shirodkar on 10 February 2005. Namratha is a model and has been crowned Miss India in 1993. She was also chosen as the first runner up for Miss Asia Pacific during 1993. During the movie Vamsi, the on-screen couple Mahesh and Namrata started seeing each other in real life. The couple has two children, son Gautam Krishna, who was born on 31 August 2006 and daughter Sitara was born on 20 July 2012.
