All eyes are on Mahesh's upcoming release Srimanthudu, which is the first biggie from Tollywood to see light after the Mighty Baahubali.
Mahesh’s Srimanthudu is an ordinary commercial film sans visual effects and the world class visuals of Baahubali. Can it enthrall the audience with regular commercial elements and emerge a winner?
Mahesh is not worried about the Baahubali effect on Srimanthudu. He is very clear about the dynamics and commercial range of his movie.
“We need not worry about the Baahubali wave. Stars won’t be shaken by the records set by Baahubali. That is once in a lifetime movie that has shown the real stamina of a Telugu film. It has pushed our boundaries a bit further.
"Every film need not collect as much as Baahubali. This may give extra mileage to the films that release hereafter. Earlier my movies used to do seventy crores business, now my blockbuster may collect another 10 crores,” Mahesh Babu said.
Srimanthudu has to collect sixty crores theatrical share to be considered a hit. As per Mahesh Srimanthudu can collect eighty crores if it turns out to be a blockbuster.
So Mahesh is not taking that extra pressure to match the might of Baahubali with Srimanthudu.
He may target the records of Baahubali with a movie of similar scale or with the one that Rajamouli makes with him!
