Contrary to wide spread rumours that Ram Charan would be part of the Telugu remake of Tamil blockbuster Thani Oruvan (TO), superstar Mahesh Babu is likely to be cast in the most-anticipated remake. According to reliable sources, the director of original Mohan Raja is keen on Mahesh and arranged a private screening to Srimanthudu star.
"Mahesh has seen the film on Sunday and he is quite impressed with the slick action thriller. Though Mahesh hasn't given his nod yet, it's likely that Mahesh would be part of the film. Director Mohan is keen on zeroing in on Mahesh but no one else from Telugu," said a source in the know. Jayam Ravi, the protagonist in the original, was seen as an IPS Officer. Given that Mahesh suits the best for IPS Officer roles, be it Pokiri or Dookudu, director Mohan was only banking on Mahesh. Many Telugu producers have queued to buy the Telugu remake rights and we hear it's on the verge of finalising. Mahesh, who would join the shoot of Brahmotsavam shortly, is considering the proposal to do remake of Thani Oruvan. However, nothing has been finalised yet.
Meanwhile, reports are rife that Bollywood star Salman Khan would do the Hindi remake of Thani Oruvan. Featuring Jayam Ravi, Nayantara and Arvind Swamy in the lead roles, the film opened to exception reviews and garnered critical acclaim. The film turned out to be super hit at the Box Office.
