When the villainy of Telugu cinema turned monotonous with villains having bushy beards and moustaches and would shout instead of uttering dialogues and wearing check lungis and t-shirts, Rao Gopal Rao, who hailed from Kakinada, appeared like a ray of hope for Tollywood to sprinkle ample entertainment with his separate style of villainy with peculiar way of uttering dialogues.
He doesn't shout and doesn't fight. Instead, he throws satires on other characters in a movie, in such a way, those actors had no words to speak and would become dumbstruck. Satires, fun, pun, ridicule are his weapons of him but not a muscular body.
Rao Ramesh, the son of late Rao Gopal Rao, was considered a normal and ordinary character artist till some time ago. Gradually, he seems have developed his own style of acting. He fits the bill for character roles, villain and a comedy villain. He showed outstanding performance in his recent movies like 'Mukunda', 'Geethanjali', 'Cinema Choopista Maavaa' and 'Subramanyam for Sale'. He is reportedly charging Rs.4 lakhs per day. It is buzzed that Rao Ramesh allotted 36 days to play a crucial role in Prince Mahesh's 'Brahmotsavam' which means his remuneration crosses Rs.1 crore. If at all, Rao Ramesh keeps the momentum up, he would become a number one character artist soon and can replace Prakash Raj. Had Rao Gopal Rao been alive, he would definitely have felt proud of his son's achievements as an actor. Way to go!
