Filmmakers across India have been facing several hardships during their films' censor scrutiny. There are several ridiculous CBFC guidelines like showing the smoking and drinking title cards, deleting or toning down all explicit intimate kissing and love making scenes and even expletives etc which the filmmakers have to follow in their films compulsorily.
Adding to these woes, filmmakers and audiences are now in for a boring menace, a mandatory screening of 'Mera Desh hai Mahaan, Mera Desh hai Jawaan' song which has been written and conceived by filmmaker and the present CBFC Chairman Pahlaj Nihalani praising the Indian PM Narendra Modi's s social welfare schemes like Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan etc.
Recently, Pahlaj Nihalani released his new song on YouTube in which he raved about Modi's governance. Now, the CBFC Chairman is pressurizing the filmmakers to use this song at the beginning of their films. This means that the filmmakers and theater exhibitors have to show the song compulsorily or the CBFC will not clear the film.
Pahlaj Nihalani's sycophancy towards Modi has invited severe flak among film and political worlds. In the past too, Nihalani released the popular Har ghar pani, har ghar bijli.
