When it comes to paying tribute to the yesteryear legendary stars, Tollywood has always been a frontrunner. Fans and Tollywood biggies often celebrate various events like birth anniversaries of the legends as a mark of respect.
But a new breed of filmmakers have now taken a different route to show their love towards the legends. Recently, several new titles like Suryakantham, Sobhan Babu and Bhanumathi were registered in the Film Chamber.
While these films are certainly not biopics glimpsing the lives of these legends, it will be certainly interesting to see how the makers of these films will use these titles and thus the legacy of these stars in their films.
Suryakantham was an iconic actress with a phenomenal fan following which is strong even now. While Sobhan Babu is still hailed as the romantic star of all-time, actress and director par excellence Bhanumathi is revered as a woman of exceptional character and talent.
While all these actors departed long back, there was a Bollywood film in the making with the title Rajinikanth, who is India's biggest star alive. Already, Rajini filed a case objecting to the makers using his name for commercial reasons.
Now, fans of our yesteryear stars too will be hoping that the filmmakers will not spoil the name and legacy of Suryakantham, Sobhan Babu and Bhanumathi in the name of creativity.
