Superstar director SS Rajamouli has come hard on critics of the modern day. In an interaction with IIT Madras Students which happened sometime back, the ace filmmaker of Tollywood has literally explained what a good critic really means.
What's the definition of good critic anyway? "A critic needs to know the grammar of the film. Then he has to dissect the film and expose what's right and what's wrong. Criticism doesn't means talking whatever comes to his/her mind", avers Rajamouli.
In his life, the numero uno director who made Baahubali, has seen only one true and genuine critics. "Gudipudi Srihari is the only such critic who used to make makers understand problems with a film through his criticsm. Most of present-day critics are half baked, nevertheless directors are also making half-baked films only. I don't give value to opinions of these critics", he adds.
Rajamouli also explained that he believes only in the verdict given by audiences as they watch films with ticket bought through hard-earned money. "Audiences step inside theatres with an intention of liking the film, while critics what to pin-point what's right and wrong. So, it's impression of audiences that is important", he concluded.
