This 100 Cr Debacle Is An Eye OpenerFilms with gigantic budgets needs to be made as per the sensibilities of audiences such that recovery will be easy. What if director makes the film to his personal taste and calls the film as his favourite passionate work? There's a lesson "Bombay Velvet" teaches to even South India.

After the likes of "Lingaa" and "Ra.One", probably "Bombay Velvet" is one such epic failure where a budget of 100 crore is at stake now. In its full run, the film might garner a producer's share of 10 crores but not beyond that. Directed by Anurag Kashyap and featuring Ranbir, Anushka Sharma, the film is gonna do any loss to these three but surely producers, distributors and buyers have bitten more dust than usual. Same is the case with Rajnikanth's movie, which is sold for over 70 crores but haven't even recovery 25% of it. Long back, Shahrukh's Ra.One has also done the same. What should our film makers of learn from these debacle?

Whatever maybe the passion of a director, if it can't satisfy audiences then it is useless. At least a film has to somehow recover the investment. Even directors should learn to tone their passions and keep in mind that they are playing the fire-game with 100 crores nearly. Their negligence is the sole factor that should be blamed. Any experiment has to be in a guaranteed proportion but not pushing producers into dark.

In the wake of Rajamouli's 100 crore worth Bahubali coming up in a couple of months, these discussions gained prominence. Anyway Rajamouli is known for understanding what audiences need, irrespective of how much budget he pools in for the movie.
