Kuwait has banned Rakshasudu in its theatres. Sources confirm that the content which shows the protagonist Suriya’s superpowers is offensive for the country. The Kuwait government slammed the release scheduled for May 29 claiming that no man except God can have super powers. This has shocked the South Indian population in the gulf country that constitutes its work force.
Rakshasudu is releasing all over on May 29 all over. Fans in the gulf region are quite upset as their wait goes in vain. Earlier, in 2013 Kuwait had banned Kamal Haasan’s Vishwaroopam. Even Raghava Lawrence’s Kanchana 2 (Ganga) was in hot waters much to the dismay of many aficionados.
Rakshasudu is directed by Venkat Prabhu in which Nayanathara and Praneetha Subhash are playing female lead roles; it is being distributed by Eros International and Studio Green.
The movie was expected to sweep good collections in the country because of South Indian population. What yet remains to be seen if other countries follow suit or allow the viewers to watch the movie. Watch this space for more.
