Director Sukumar has recently launched a production house to make movies for his associates. Hero Surya kick started 2D Entertainment and produced a flick for his wife. Superstar Mahesh turned to production after cutting out budgets of his films and started G Mahesh Babu Entertainment Pvt Ltd. Taking a cue from these stars, even Sreenu Vytla is getting ventured into production now. If we have to decode these happenings, there are two sides to talk about it.

Not just these biggies, but youngsters like Nara Rohit and Sharwanand also launched their own production houses. Though this phenomenon is neither new nor something that was never seen in Tollywood so far, none of the present generation big-stars have poked their fingers into making films. Some say that starting a production house will give heroes and directors the independence of experimenting with content of their own. Pressures from seasonal producers could be avoided in terms of content, budget and casting as heroes can go for a freewheeling ride if they are the boss. But not all these production houses have scored big hits and proved their mettle.

Hero Sharwa has lost most of his budget when he made "Ko Ante Koti" and we have to see if "Asura" is going to be a safe venture for Nara Rohit. Until "Pataas" came his way, NTR Arts of Kalyan Ram has seen only flops. While some heroes are floating their own production houses to make movies with others, some do that for the sake of profit sharing from original producer rather taking advance remuneration.
