It was a rather dull week at the box office as there were no big releases this week.
Krishnamma Kalipindi Iddarini got good reviews, but hasn’t been able to rake in money. Since two to three small films are releasing every week, it is not clear if the film will make any money in future.
Another film that released this week is Vinavayya Ramayya. It is said that the film will not even get back publicity money. Tippu and his team who blame the reviewers haven’t managed to get back even basic investment.
Jyothilakshmi ended up in deficit in the second week. Though the team had high hopes thinking that they had a good film on hand, it did not work at the box office.
In fact, one film which has managed to make money in summer is Pandaga Chesko. The film was a safe bet for buyers.
On the other hand, Kerintha took time to pick up and its collections became steady in the second week. Though the collections haven’t been up to the mark, Dil Raju has taken enough care to make sure the results are good.
This week saw the release of Tiger, Jaadugaadu and Where Is Vidya Balan. It remains to be seen if the films can show any impact before Baahubali releases.
