Grapevine has that Rajamouli tried to deal with the issue of castes in Baahubali. As his story is set in a 15th century backdrop, no doubt caste system is highly predominant in such societies. As Sivudu happens to be a fellow of Royal blood who grows among the tribes at a mountain far from the riches of the kingdom, he will be uninformed about the caste equality and inequality anyone has to follow. This happens to be cause for the revolt. We hear that Prabhas battles with people of upper castes in the flick.
Another update is that this caste issue touched rather lightly in first part of Baahubali, while the issue will be portrayed more in second part. Because Devasena happens to be a warrior lady who is not of royal blood, the feud between Amarendra Baahubali and other ministers in the courtyard grows bigger. And the part of Sr Prabhas and Anushka is dealt more in second part of the film. We have to appreciate Rajamouli for dealing with an evil of the society even in an epic war film.
